How to do a Password Reset in Active Directory

This guide will show and teach you how to do a password reset for a user within the Active Directory.

  • Step 1 - Go to the DC server of the client that needs their password resetting
  • Step 2 - Find AD (Active Directory) and open it

This is Active directory it allows you to create a whole environment for a client when linked with different types of applications.

  • Step 3 - Go to the domain its usually name local at the end. Step 
  • Step 4 - Find the Operational Unit (OU) for Users (It will look different to rest of the folders on the screen (see image below) 
  • Step 5 - Find the user you want to change the password for and select Reset Password (High lighted in Yellow)
  • Step 6 - Change the users password
  • Step 7 - Make sure you tick the box under the password you input (User must change password at next login)
